The head and handle are cut from a single piece of steel, so there are no wedges to come loose or handles to break off. We cut the profile, harden it, and sharpen everything by hand in our workshop.
The cutting edge is fully convex. It bites well into the wood, catches less, and handles knots better. In the field, it can be sharpened with fine sandpaper on a soft surface or with a leather strop.
The weight is concentrated in the head. The tang tapers from 6 to 4 mm at the handle, which reduces the weight on the hand without compromising the power of the strike. Held by the neck, it handles like a large knife for fine work.
Every piece is handmade, so small variations from the photos are normal. Read the product notice
