My name is Arménio, and I am the hands behind AF Knifeworks.
It all started in early 2022, in my backyard, with an old file and a campfire. There was no workshop and no proper tools — just curiosity and the urge to understand how a piece of steel becomes a blade that cuts.
The first results were far from perfect, but every attempt taught me something, and my love for the craft only grew.
Since then, it has been a journey of learning over the years: understanding how each steel behaves, mastering heat treatment, refining blade geometry and grinds, and working wood, micarta and leather better and better.
And that journey is far from over. I keep studying, experimenting and perfecting my techniques, because in a craft like this there is always something new to learn — and the goal is for every knife to be a little better than the one before.
Today, every knife is still made the same way: one at a time, by hand, with time and care, from the shape of the blade to the last stitch of the sheath.
I don’t make knives to sit in a display case. I make them to go with you, for years, to every campfire and every trail.
